Harry Kane is open to signing a new contract at Tottenham despite rumours over his future.

Kane’s contract expires in the summer of 2024 and Manchester United are interested in signing him in the summer. 

However, as The Athletic reports, negotiations between Tottenham and Kane are scheduled once the transfer window closes, with the club now focusing on prospective incomings.

The Englishman is willing to stay at Tottenham, but if an agreement cannot be reached, the club will have to decide whether to sell the striker or lose him for free the next year.

Sportsmail has learned that United executives have begun to examine the specifics of a possible transfer.

Bayern Munich have also been linked with a move for Englishman, but former president Uli Hoeness of the German club doubts that they can afford Tottenham’s asking price of £130 million.

Speaking to journalist Maximilian Koch, Hoeness said of Tottenham’s valuation of Kane: ‘He’s a great player, but that’s an order of magnitude.

‘Manchester City got out at 140, 150 million euros. I can’t imagine that these are amounts that Bayern Munich want to or can pay.’

The Tottenham striker is now just one goal behind Tottenham’s all-time leading scorer, Jimmy Greaves, who scored 226 goals. The England captain remains an important member for Antonio Conte’s team.

Despite his remarkable individual achievements, he is yet to win a trophy with Tottenham.

The 29-year-old is aware that this might be one of his last chances to secure a high-profile transfer to a top club.
