John Kirby, the National Security Council’s coordinator for strategic communications, recently underscored the unwavering support of the United States for Israel in its ongoing conflict with Hamas. Addressing reporters at a White House briefing, Kirby elaborated on President Joe Biden’s ongoing dialogue with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, stating that the administration is closely monitoring developments in the Middle East.

Kirby asserted that the United States would persist in equipping Israel with the necessary resources for its self-defense. “We are committed to ensuring that Israel has the means to protect itself and will continue our efforts to deliver humanitarian aid. We are also committed to securing the safe exit of hostages and individuals from the Gaza Strip,” said the senior White House official.

On the topic of Iran’s role in the Israel-Hamas conflict, Kirby stated, “While there’s no immediate evidence suggesting that another state or entity is escalating this conflict, we remain vigilant. However, we are not oblivious to Iran’s involvement.”

The United States, according to Kirby, is taking proactive measures against Iran’s support for terrorist organizations, according to the official US Treasury Department. “We are imposing additional sanctions and bolstering our military presence in the region to counter the threat posed by Iran’s ongoing support for terrorist groups,” he added.

When questioned about Amnesty International‘s reports indicating the use of white phosphorus shells by the Israeli military in the Gaza Strip, Kirby refrained from confirming the information.
